Hero Complex: Book One: Hero, Second-Class
Hero Complex is my first stab at writing a novel. Published by Marcher Lord Press in October 2008, HC:H2C is a fantasy satire novel, combining the multitudinous cliches found in the Fantasy genre and making fun of them all at once. From dragons who hear spelling and punctuation mistakes, to Heroes who narrate their combat as they fight, to Horse Insurance, Hero Complex is a good deal of fun. If I do say so myself. Of course, I'm biased. Buy the book and decide for yourself.

More to come...
Don't give up hope on more mayhem and merriment, folks. The Hero Complex II: Hero in Hiding (prospective title only) is now its own project, and I have a chapter or two of unedited fluff of it on paper. Well, in pixels with redundant backup copies in case the computer crashes. And a text file full of ideas to put in it, so there will be more. Mwa ha ha.
About Me

My name is Mitchell Bonds, hence the site name. As of March 2, 2008, I have reached the physical age of twenty years. I have spent a year at Hillsdale College, taken courses at North Idaho College, and am currently enrolled at the University of Idaho, getting a major in Radio/TV/ Broadcasting, and taking Air Force ROTC.
I have been creating the fantasy world that HC is set in since I was ten years old. I mostly developed it by playing a ridiculously overwrought fantasy game I made up as my friends and I went. Dubbed "Quest," it was a source of constant merriment for six or seven years. After I put away such childish things, I began to miss them, and decided to write a short story that incorporated the spirit of what I had lost.
Needless to say, it didn't turn out so short, and now Marcher Lord Press is paying me to publish it. Funny how things like that work out...
My hobbies besides writing include photography, random pencil drawings, racquetball, and experimentation with stunt-kites. I've also been known to indulge in a video game from time to time, and enjoy a good fantasy role-play of any sort.
After graduating from the University of Idaho, I will be joining the U.S. Air Force, specializing in broadcasting and public relations. And of course, I'll continue writing, because that is what I love.
